Bearing intricate tattoos with meanings intrinsic to their own, they often puzzle and confuse other civilized kin. Many dwarves make up the standing guard and military of Paignia, and were firmly opposed to the decision to forfeit during the [[Shortwars]] and cede territory to [[Odurne]]. This comes from a deeply rooted belief in their culture that the will of many supersedes the will of the few. Dwarves that do not become soldiers or mercenaries often find themselves at the forefront of Enterprise in major cities.
